Join Nebraska Public Media at The Durham Museum as we continue celebrating America’s 250th birthday with an engaging evening centered on The American Revolution, the acclaimed documentary by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt. Watch featured excerpts from the film, then dive deeper with a short talk from Dr. Susan Brynne Long, early American History lecturer at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Step into the past through a hands-on pop-up exhibit presented by the Omaha Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, featuring items from the Patriots Chest filled with period-accurate materials and everyday colonial artifacts, and stay for a dynamic panel discussion that sparks curiosity and brings the people, tensions, and turning points of the Revolutionary era to life.
5-6:30PM: Pop-Up Exhibit ExplorationPresented by the Omaha Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, the "Patriots Chest" exhibit is a special hands-on, pop-up exhibit featuring period-accurate materials and everyday colonial artifacts.
6:30-8PM: Featured Excerpts, Mini-Lecture, and Panel DiscussionWatch segments from The American Revolution documentary followed by a short talk and deeper dive into history with Dr. Susan Brynne Long, early American History lecturer at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Then, stay for an engaging panel discussion that takes the conversation even further.
