Following the Golden Spike: Time, Place, and Change along the First Transcontinental Railroad

Drake Hokanson is an author, photographer, and independent scholar who looks to the broad American land, its places, well-worn paths, people, and stories as the subjects for his photographs, books, exhibits, and essays. He is the author/coauthor of three books, has edited and contributed to several others, and has exhibited photographs coast to coast. His other experience includes teaching photography and nonfiction writing at the university level for some 30 years, and hand-firing a ten-wheeler in excursion service on the C&NW.

Attendees of "Following the Golden Spike: Time, Place, and Change" are invited to attend a reception before the lecture.  The reception will take place from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM.  The lecture will take place from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM.

Reservations are required and regular museum admission applies; free for members. Make your reservation below, then pay when you arrive at the event.

Please note the word “Free” below means there are no booking fees to make your reservation; as previously mentioned, admission fees are paid upon arrival.
