5PM Social Hour
6:30PM Presentation
Please note, the museum will close at 4PM and reopen at 5PM for visitors attending the event.
Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at the art and craft of animation with Michael Burton, a filmmaker and UNL associate professor of art and digital fashion. Drawing from his past work of bringing historical garments to life on the big screen, Burton will explore a range of animation techniques featured in iconic animated films, and discuss how studying those methods led to the creation of the distinctive Animating History film series. See for yourself the connection between animation and fashion, and what role modern technology (think virtual reality!) is playing in it.
Social hour includes light hors d’oeuvres (while supplies last), a cash bar and a chance to venture through The Animation Academy exhibition.
Advanced registration is required. Regular museum admission applies, free for museum members. Register by calling 402-444-5071, emailing reservations@DurhamMuseum.org or going online to DurhamMuseum.org.
